Habibi Contest

If you have been reading GNR lately, you know how much I love Habibi. Craig Thompson's latest graphic novel has blown me away, and it continues to do so upon rereading. So if you haven't read it yourself yet and you'd like a chance to receive a free copy, head on over to the Habibi Facebook page and sign up for their new contest. They're giving away three free copies to deserving winners. Good luck!

Posy Simmonds Creating a Graphic Novel for Charity

This weekend's Comica Festival in London will see the debut of a new comic created for charity, featuring 54 writers and artists from around the industry. Nelson (named after the protagonist it features) was spearheaded by Posy Simmonds (Tamara Drewe) and is published by Blank Slate. The book will benefit Shelter, a charity that assists the homeless. The book will go on sale tomorrow, Saturday, November 12, at 11:00 a.m., when Simmonds does a signing at Comica. If you're in London tomorrow, check it out!
