Goodbye, Joe
Earlier this year, I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Joe Simon. It was one of the rare treats of my career. I was terribly saddened to hear the news today that he passed away at the age of 98. Joe was a true gentleman, a real legend in this industry and throughout the world, and he gave us all so much. He will be missed. Rest in peace, Joe.
Good News for Old Friends
Two friends of the site have done some very good things recently, and I wanted to let you know about them.
First up, Robin Brenner has relaunched her graphic novel review site No Flying, No Tights and even revealed the survey results for graphic novels in libraries. It's chock full of interesting data for readers, so be sure to check it out.

The year's winding down, so of course multiple outlets (including us!) are picking the best graphic novels of 2011. Have you picked your personal best? You may want to check all these out and see how they compare. And of course, check all these lists out for an interesting take on what to read. I know for me, it was tough to narrow my list down, and the more I look at what others have chosen, the more I think, "Oh! Maybe I should have picked that!" But then I have no idea what I would take off my list to make room.
