ICv2 Lined Up for New York Comic Con
The day before New York Comic Con breaks loose, the long-running ICv2 conference will bring its insights and opinions to light in an afternoon conference that explores the growth and outreach of the graphic format. I'm eager to attend again this year, as it's always fascinating to hear founder Milton Griepp's analyses, as well as to attend the panels that follow. After Milton's white paper is presented, the day will feature three panels:
"Kids—the Future of Everything!" (moderated by Scott Robins, librarian and coauthor of A Parent’s Guide to the Best Kids Comics); panelists: Carol Burrell, editorial director, Graphic Universe; Ed Masessa, senior manager product development, Scholastic Book Fairs; Francoise Mouly, publisher and editorial director, Toon Books; and Jim Salicrup, editor-in-chief, Papercutz.
"Comics—The New Medium" (moderated by Heidi MacDonald, comic editor and commentator from The Beat); panelists: Dave Gibbons, artist, writer, and advisory board member of Madefire; Brian Haberlin, cofounder, Anomaly Productions; Mark Waid, writer and founder of Thrillbent.
"Comics—The Transforming Business Model" (moderated by Rob Salkowitz, writer of Comic-Con and the Business of Pop Culture); panelists: Michael Murphey, CEO, iVerse, and David Steinberger, CEO, comiXology.
