Mark Waid Has Another Great Series

Writer and Boom! Studios chief Mark Waid has one of the more interesting takes on superherodom. I like his views on what makes a hero and what makes a villain (most famously explored in his current Irredeemable series and of course in Kingdom Come. It's such a cliche to mention redefining the genre considering how it seems to have been continuously redefined ever since Watchmen and Dark Knight, if not even earlier through the rise of the indie comics market. So I won't take that approach. I'll just say that, after reading Incorruptible #1 (out this Wednesday), I love his new series and am looking forward to seeing where it goes. Irredeemable is Waid's story of a superhero turned into the ultimate evil; Incorruptible is the player on the other side: former superpowered villain Max Damage decides to go straight, whatever the cost. Incorruptible begins and ends with a bang, and I'm anxious for more. When a trade-paper collection of the series is released, we'll review it here, but in the meantime, check out the monthly issues for a good, entertaining read.
