Another Way to Add GNs to Classrooms

Borders has announced its new Educator Appreciation Week program, coming next week (September 29-October 7). All the Borders stores across the country are participating, giving 30% off for teacher purchases. Does that mean graphic novels are included? I hope so, and I believe it does. This could be a great way for teachers to get some copies of Maus, Persepolis, Watchmen, or any of the other many, many worthwhile GNs that could be used to teach (and may I again trumpet the excellent The Vietnam War: A Graphic History? It would be an excellent resource for any discussion of the war).

I use In Stock Trades (www.instocktrades.com) for nearly all of my classroom graphic novel purchases. The prices are nearly unbeatable. I also picked up a bunch of GNs at the Windy City Comic Con this past weekend, all at 40% - 60% off. Cons are great for school shopping.
