Ryan P. Donovan writes monthly book reviews for School Library Journal. He has previously contributed to Kirkus Reviews and Booklist, as well as a piece on How to Build a Dynamic Comic Social Hour for GNR. He wrote the opening chapter for Out Behind the Desk: Workplace Issues for LGBTQ Librarians. He has also presented at the New York Comic Con and Book Expo America on the subject of graphic novels in libraries. Ryan contributed four entries to Critical Survey of Graphic Novels: Heroes and Superheroes published by Salem Press. A longtime comic fan, he often writes about comic books on his personal blog, Ryan, the Librarian. He currently works as a librarian in New York City.
