It has been some time since Hee-So fell in love at first sight with Won-Jun Kang, and much has transpired. Specifically, Hee-So and Whie-Young’s relationship has grown somewhat closer, and they are beginning to find their connection runs a little deeper than either of them were aware.
 
During the events of this volume, Whie-Young must confront a piece of himself while he lies in the hospital after overextending himself and overusing his powers. If things continue as they are, he may die in the near future, but if he is able to discover and find the piece of himself that he lost long ago, he may yet be saved.
 
Another object of note, Beatrice, Hee-So’s beloved talking cactus, has come to life…well, more so than before, anyway. The kicker is that he’s been a boy all along, and now that Beatrice has become a handsome young man, he feels a deep affection for Hee-So and wants to make her happy. Hmmm…he reminds me a little of Pinocchio.
 
I’m getting more and more used to manhwa and its unique art style. Although similar to that of the manga so dear to my heart, it has its own subtleties that differentiate it enough to make it stand out. The emotional, heartfelt storytelling can engross the reader and keep his or her eyes on the characters as they each try to find their own happiness. One almost can’t help but root for them as one gets to know them more and more.
